A trip to the coast

the moment before we saw a fox

My brother is 14 and sails in his 'Optimist'; a not very big sailboat. He practises almost every week and this time he had to go to Duinbergen. It is usually only my father who brings my brother to his destination but today my mother and I also went with them, so we could have a walk there.

After we dropped my brother off, my parents and I left to Retranchement. We did a walk of 10 km and saw a fox, many birds and cows with an interesting pattern on their back.

Studying for my exams

The first day of studying has finished. My first exam is on Wednesday 29 so I decided today (Thursday) would be a good day to start revising. My first exam is from the course 'Oriental Literature - China' and it's actually less boring to study than I expected!

I did 55 pages today (of the 199 in total) and even had time to go buy new knitting needles for my new project. (see latest post). I'm now going to knit and watch the last episode of Broadchurch.

See you~

A package of wool

I ordered 19 balls of yarn (DROPS Merino extra fine, there is currently a sale) so I can start a new project once I finish the sweater I am working on now. I payed on Monday and they are already here, on Wednesday! I am over the moon.

Knitting work in progress #1

I recently started knitting. My boyfriend's mother showed me Ravelry (a website for knitters and crocheters) and I decided to try knit a sweater.
My first sweater is now done and I started a second one on May 12!

This time it's with colour work and I really love it. I'm now starting with the sleeves so I believe it might be finished at the end of the week.

My project can be found on Ravelry as well, click here to visit the website.

Flowers for my balcony

My mum and I went to the flower market this Sunday.

The plan was to buy some flowers so I could put them on my small balcony with my still empty plant box. My mum often goes to the markets Sunday morning and it was lovely to go with her this time even though the weather wasn't too great.

There was even a small orchestra on the market (!) - now I want to learn to play the clarinet or saxophone. A piano or harp (the instruments I know how to play) aren't very easy to take with you everywhere...

8 things to add to your journal #2

I made a post about things to add to your journal before but I came up with more ideas and wanted to share those as well. There might even be a part 3 if I forgot something in this list, haha.

My brother once made a lovely drawing of V from BTS and I put in my diary. I still like it a lot.
You can of course draw something yourself as well, maybe a building or landscape you saw when visiting a cool place?

Piece of yarn
I haven't done this yet but I'm planning on putting a piece of yarn in my journal. It's the one I'm using to knit my sweater. For every other project I will knit (and maybe crochet) I'll also do this.
If you're sewing something you can also put a bit or your fabric in your journal.
